A brief outline

The bachelor course of studies imparts the fundamental knowledge and the understanding of applications you require as a mechanical engineer to engage in work across all areas of industry. The goal is a universal qualification more so than a specialisation in particular areas.

Building on basic subjects like mathematics, engineering mechanics, materials technology, or construction elements you acquire broad knowledge in the areas of construction and production technology. Additionally, there are subjects like computer-based construction, construction systems, machine tools and production processes.

Particular importance is placed on the use of computer-based methods and tools, which have become indispensable to the daily routine of mechanical engineers.

Your technical expertise is complemented with subjects such as business management, quality management and project management.

A pronounced appreciation of practical applications is acquired through your final thesis, which, as a general rule, is compiled within or in conjunction with an industrial firm.

The mathematics bridging course is offered to all officially enrolled first semester students at the beginning of the semester. The schedule is communicated in writing at the time of approval or enrolment.
