So as to impart more in-depth knowledge, modern and well-equipped laboratories are provided in sufficient numbers. Here, for example, you will find, apart from machine tools, robots, measuring and testing facilities as well as high-tech microscopes, also experimental set-ups from material science, electrical engineering and automation technology, physics and fluid mechanics. Waiting lists for laboratory places don't exist at the RFH Cologne.

We place particular importance on imparting knowledge of computer-based tools and methods. For this, state-of-the-art equipped computer rooms are available, which are not only utilised in laboratory work, but also find use as part of the lecture series.

In terms of software programmes, these, among others, are used: Cation V5, Inventor, AutoCAD, Nastran/Patran, Hypermesh, Fluent, Matlab/Simulink and Microsoft Dynamics – to name only the most well-known.
